This holiday season, give the gift of getaway, and you’ll be the remembered for your gift giving prowess.  Each of the 7 Inns Along the Coast offer gift certificates available not only this holiday season but year round for holidays, anniversaries, birthdays, or no reason at all but to relax.  Whether it’s a romantic getaway or an outdoor adventure, give the gift of travel to the one(s) you love and plan to go along for the ride.  It's a gift for them and for you too!

But don’t listen to us; take the advice from some well-respected travel experts.  There are a number of reasons to give the gift of getaway this holiday season.

Perfect for that person who has everything but time to relax

According to the annual BedandBreakfast.com™ Winter Travel Trends survey of more than 950 B&B travelers conducted in October and November, 2015, more than three-quarters of B&B travelers are planning weekend trips to “just get away,” with one out of three planning to take two weekend getaways this winter. A gift certificate for travel will be just what they need to make their getaway hopes and dreams come true. A gift certificate from any of the eight Inns Along the Coast is the perfect gift for that person who has everything but time to relax.

Too much vacation time goes unused - give a reason to use it

According to Travel & Leisure, The U.S. Travel Association, a trade group which encourages Americans to travel, funded Project Time Off to measure the economic impact of the decline in vacation time. They found that among employees with access to paid time off, nearly five days went unused in 2013, and 1.6 of those days did not carry over to the next year. That totals to 169 million days of lost vacation time for Americans. We're willing to bet that part of the reason so many vacation days were left behind was because these folks didn’t have a good reason to travel.  Give the gift of a getaway to any of the 7 Inns Along the Coast to that sleep-starved worker, and it’ll bring that person one step closer to the best night's sleep he or she has had in a long time. The gift certificates or gift cards from Inns Along the Coast will beckon them to book now or forever hold your time card!

Know someone who really needs a vacation - send them to the Coast of Maine

Is it time to send the boss away?  How about your mother in law? If you’re at a loss for what to give the boss from everyone in the office or Aunt Ruth who really needs a good reason to smile, give them the gift of getaway on the Maine Coast.  Not only will they get the much-needed rest and relaxation they need, you’ll all benefit from the break too!  And you might even get a smile out of them!  Have the camera ready.

There’s still time to order a gift certificate to your favorite member of Inns Along the Coast, but you don’t want to wait too much longer.  Visit each of the eight Inns Along the Coast by clicking below on links that will take you directly to each of their websites.  Better yet, visit them in person to see all the gorgeous holiday decorations found throughout the inns.
