Our launch of Inns Along the Coast sent the travel community celebrating.  We know that ravelers have wanted and waited fora coordinated inn-to-inn opportunity for exploring the Maine coast and now they have it. Yet what topped the excitement were the three exciting themed itineraries which can be added to the 6-day Inns Along the Coast package.  Whether you’re a foodie, an adventure seeker or one who loves the arts and culture scene – or maybe a combination of all three – Inns Along the Coast has compiled ideas to add to your stay insuring you’ll get the most from each community.  And, the best part is that unlike motels, hotels or vacation rentals, the Inns Along the Coast innkeepers are on hand each day and night to advise on the most treasured of photo opportunities, offer directions and ideas for foodie experiences, adventure and art gems along the coast of Maine.

Each itinerary starts with the basic 6-day package combining a two-day stay in each region with three different inn experiences.  Then, the itineraries are an add-on to the package; a list of great themed ideas for every traveler. The ideas listed in the itinerary are meant to fill the day with fun and adventure, but are not included in the package.  Note, however, that a number of the ideas are free.

The Foodie Itinerary is designed to fill the guests’ day with tastings and tours, cooking schools, demonstrations and plenty of lobster.  Whether it’s wine tasting in Rockland, beer tasting in Kennebunkport, or Balsamic and and olive oils to taste in Bar Harbor, there’s plenty of chances to sample your way up and down the coast of Maine.

The Adventure Seeker’s itinerary offers up everything from stand-up paddle boarding to biking on the Carriage Trails of Acadia National Park.  From historic windjammer cruises to whale watches and skiing and sleigh rides in the winter, those with a sense of adventure will enjoy the options suggested in the Adventure Along the Coast itinerary.  Golf, ziplining, and scenic flights high above the coastline can be combined with spa treatments and fine dining for the ideal day of adventure followed by relaxation.  All of these add-ons are found suggested on the Adventure Along the Coast of Maine Itinerary.

The third itinerary is designed for those who seek the historic and art-filled aspects of travel.  Between renowned museums and art centers and historic theaters, there’s plenty of cultural treasures in Bar Harbor, Rockland and Kennebunkport.  The Arts Along the Coast of Maine itinerary combines events like Art Walks and concerts with galleries, one-of-a-kind museums and lush garden tours. Follow this itinerary and your days in each region will be filled with Wyeth, Whales and the Wabanaki of Maine.  It’s all a part of the Arts Along the Coast itinerary.

Guests can consult with the knowledgeable innkeepers at participating inns for directions and additional ideas for the best ways to see and experience the coast of Maine.  Participating inns include Saltair Waterfront B&B  in Bar Harbor, LimeRock Inn , Berry Manor Inn and Granite Inn in Rockland and Inn at English Meadows, 1802 House and Captain Jefferds Inn in Kennebunkport. Add complimentary breakfasts each day and home made afternoon refreshments along with free Wi-Fi and the best night sleep you’ve had in weeks, and you’ve got the perfect way to explore all there is to see on Maine’s coast.
