Introducing Inns Along the Coast

When visitors think of Maine, they envision coastal harbors, lobster dinners, fabulous ocean views and Acadia National Park.  For years, perhaps even decades, travelers have sought an ideal and easy itinerary for exploring the Maine Coast and discovering all that coastal Maine offers.  At long last, eight beautiful inns, each located in the coastal Maine towns of Kennebunkport, Rockland and Bar Harbor, have formed Inns Along The Coast.  The seven inns are strategically located in three towns about two hours from one another, creating the ideal route for seeing the highlights of the Maine Coast.

Inns Along the Coast allows visitors in search of a coastal Maine vacation to choose accommodations from eight beautiful B&Bs and inns, each within an easy stroll of their vibrant downtown areas.  In Kennebunkport, Inns Along the Coast members include 1802 House, Inn at English Meadows and the Captain Jefferds Inn, all very close to Dock Square.  Two hours up the coast in Midcoast Maine’s town of Rockland, choose from the LimeRock InnBerry Manor Inn and the Granite Inn, all located in historic neighborhoods within a quick walk of downtown and the harbor.  Down East, in Bar Harbor, Inns Along the Coast include the Saltair Inn, again easily accessible to the shopping and restaurants of Bar Harbor.  The eight inns included in Inns Along the Coast offer everything from historic to modern-chic accommodations, each including a homemade and hearty breakfast each morning along with complimentary afternoon refreshments.

There are pet-friendly inns, family-friendly B&Bs, couple-friendly inns, and even first-time B&B goer-friendly inns in the mix. But beyond all the extras offered with inn accommodations, the advantage of an inn-stay is the friendly hospitality, the warm welcome, and the help from innkeepers-in-the-know about the region.  Unlike a Maine hotel where no one will know your name, your innkeeper will welcome you by name and help you discover those little-known places along the Maine Coast which will be the highlight of your trip.

Inns Along the Coast have developed a number of itineraries taking the hassle out of your vacation planning.  Whether you prefer to taste your way through Maine, discover the arts and culture of Maine or enjoy adventure along the way, there is an itinerary for you.  Visit the itineraries page and combine a few ideas from each themed trip to personalize your Maine holiday in any way you choose.  Either way, we’ve made the trip planning easy with a number of themed itineraries for discovering the Coast of Maine.
