The Inn

The 1802 House Bed and Breakfast Inn is an historic, independantly owned and operated inn in Kennebunkport, Maine. The house is of original Colonial design and was constructed in 1802.

We pride ourselves on being one of Kennebunkports finest inns and offer choice appointments, a relaxing atmosphere and a delicious breakfast.

Our convenient location is just a few minutes walk from the attractions of Dock Square and a short drive to the beach.

The Rooms

Our bed and breakfast offer’s exceptional Kennebunkport lodging in our six welcoming guest rooms. Each room boasts its own understated elegance and modern hospitality coupled with traditional charm. Each offers a private bathroom and modern amenities such as fireplaces, air conditioning, smart TV’s and Wi-fi. With premium linens, complimentary, deluxe toiletries and plush robes, the 1802 House is the perfect place to relax after a busy day.

The Breakfast

A three course breakfast is served daily beginning with juice, tea served in your own tea pot or local Maine roasted coffee. We start with a freshly baked treat followed by seasonal fruit or yoghurt course. The main course includes fare such as eggs benedict or blueberry pancakes. All our breakfasts are accompanied by a protein such as bacon or sausage.

The Innkeeper

Julianna Acheson is overjoyed with her new position of innkeeper of the 1802 House in Kennebunkport, Maine. She believes that the 1802 House Bed and Breakfast is a wonderful place to live and to welcome guests for a coastal Maine vacation.

Julianna was inspired to become an innkeeper from her grandparents, Mary and James Acheson, who were old fashioned Maine hoteliers in the heyday of 19th century hotels. As a child she got to roam the halls, dining room, ride the elevator of the Augusta House Hotel and she became enamored with hospitality industry in Maine.

Julianna is delighted to welcome guests from all over New England, the U.S and the world to her inn. Her prior career as a cultural anthropologist, speaking five different languages, serves her well welcoming guests!

The Gardens

Our beautiful landscapes gardens offer the perfect retreat after a busy day of shopping or adventure. Relax in one of our rocking chairs on the porch, or shelter from the sun beneath one of the gracious pines in an Adirondack chair on the back lawn. Maybe you’ll catch sight of President Bush practicing his game on the golf course while you sit and relax with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine. In the evening, take time to enjoy our fire pit with an aperitif or an after dinner glass of wine. Our garden is an oasis of peace and tranquility after the hustle and bustle of downtown.
