The Brewster House B&B offers casual elegance with a focus on deliciously crafted foods, right in the heart of Freeport, home to L.L. Bean, Maine’s most popular shopping attraction. With all that the Southern Maine Coast offers, and just a 15-minute drive from one of America’s top gourmet cities - Portland, ME - Brewster House B&B is one food-lover’s perfect choice.

Offering a variety of accommodation choices for families and couples traveling together or alone, innkeepers Kelleigh & Dave, along with their three children–Ben, Davis and Ruby are your hosts and innkeepers at the Brewster House, and are always on hand to offer great advice for places to eat and play in the area, from both the adult and the kid’s perspective.

The Rooms

The 9-foot ceilings, large private baths and fire placed rooms, Matouk linens, bay windows, cypress floors, mahogany mantelpiece, and Italian marble tiled hearth are all nods to the past and beautifully preserved in a casually elegant stay for guests of the Brewster House B&B.

Brewster House Inn offers seven spacious guest rooms, all with private en suite baths.  All guest rooms are named after lighthouses in Maine from Cape Neddick to Bass Harbor. Comfort and relaxation are the themes here and guest rooms offer up everything one might need to kick back and rest comfortably.  Located between the first, second and third floors, guest rooms here offer configurations for every kind of travel party.

The Breakfast

Your innkeeper, Dave, shares his culinary talent with guests at breakfast, offering a three-course meal to fuel up for the day. Everything possible is locally sourced and made from scratch, right down to the smoked sea salt that found its beginnings in the nearby ocean and was carefully cultivated by Chef Dave.

Breakfast is served from 8:00am to 9:00am daily at private two-and-four top tables in the inn’s brightly lit dining room. Breakfast begins with “Brewster Juice” (a signature blend), freshly brewed English Breakfast tea and locally roasted, ground each morning, French Press Coffee.

Dave’s starter course is highlighted with fresh fruit served with one of the inn’s various homemade sauces, or in yogurt parfaits with Brewster House homemade granola. The next course is a breakfast entrée which rotates between savory and sweet each day. Breakfast entrées are ever changing, as Dave experiments with new selections, in addition to old favorites.

Kelleigh and Dave

The Innkeepers

Kelleigh and Dave met in 2010, when they were both living in New York City. They realized their career goals were in tune when they asked one another about life dreams and aspirations.

Having both spent years in hospitality–Dave as an executive chef and Kelleigh in hotel & restaurant management–they both longed to be in business for themselves, owning a B&B.

While living in New York, Dave honed his talents in some of the best New York City restaurants including Smith & Wollensky and the Post House. Kelleigh developed a career in the entertainment industry working for great brands like Discover Channel and Comedy Central.

Dave and Kelleigh call themselves “MAINEHATTANITES”, or Maine transplants via the Big Apple! They feel they are “living the dream” as business owners, innkeepers and parents all at once.

Craft Beer on Demand

The inn’s liquor license allows guests to purchase a hand-picked selection of wines and craft beers from a 24/7 Kegerator, Big Brewstah. Ask Dave about some of the up-and-coming favorites; he’s a wealth of knowledge when it comes to Maine’s beer scene.

The Grounds

The grounds surrounding the inn give guests the chance to enjoy everything from maple syrup collection up-close-and-personal in the winter to a popular fire pit for making s’mores in the warmer months.  The focus at the Brewster House is clearly on great food, served in a casual New England setting.  Chef Dave puts his culinary training to work offering delicious breakfasts and afternoon treats.
