Restaurant week returns to Maine in March and our Inns Along The Coast innkeepers thoughts turn to food. They have the simply terrible task of going to restaurants to ensure they can tell you all the best places to eat during your stay. From fine dining to burgers and brews, our fabulous restaurants and bars will serve you up a smorgasbord of the best food Maine has to offer.

Maine Restaurant Week is the highlight of the March calendar and one not to be missed. Held this year from March 1st -12th, restaurants all over the state offer up delicious sample menus at great prices, hold events and even donate to charity.

One of the participating restaurants this year is the Little Barn in Kennebunk. Offering simply but beautifully prepared and flavorful dishes. Using local Maine seafood and farm to table suppliers, the Little Barn is a treat at any time of year.

Events are still being added to the schedule for this year https://www.mainerestaurantweek.com/events but if your in the area, and can tear yourself away from your innkeepers delicious breakfast, head over to the Incredible Breakfast Cook Off at Sea Dog Brewing in Portland. Watch as several of Portland’s best breakfast spots battle it out for the title. Proceeds from the event are donated to Preble Street Mission, a wonderful cause helping the homeless and hungry in Maine. https://www.preblestreet.org/

Staying with our food theme, our innkeepers are busy thinking up new breakfast ideas for you to enjoy. Old favorites always stay on the menu at your favorite inns, like the Pancake breakfast at Holbrook House and Newcastle Inns’ French toast on Canadian bacon with chopped pecans which is garnished with an orange slice, or Granite Inns’ lobster quiche with a lobster cutout crust on top.
