Meet The Innkeepers (Part 1)

Here at the Inns Along the Coast we have the most amazing innkeepers. Although they are all very different they all have one thing in common….they love being innkeepers and they love playing host to all the wonderful guests that stay with them.

We are starting our introductions with Kelleigh and Dave at Brewster House in Freeport, Ashley at LimeRock Inn in Rockland, Liz and Carolyn at Newcastle Inn in Newcastle and Al and Lindsey at Pilgrims Inn, Deer Isle

Dave and Kelleigh from Brewster House both come from hospitality backgrounds. Prior to becoming innkeeper and breakfast maker extraordinaire at the Brewster House, Dave had been executive chef at some of New York city’s best restaurants including Smith and Wollensky and the Post House.

Kelleigh worked in the entertainment industry for Discovery Channel and Comedy Central before starting a career in hotel and restaurant management.

The couple met in New York and together dreamed of opening a bed and breakfast. They moved from there to Maine and describe themselves as Mainehattanites! They are living their dream, innkeepers, business owners and parents all rolled into one.

Ashley moved to Rockland to become caretaker of The LimeRock Inn in May of 2019. After a career in Molecular Genetics, she decided on a new career and searched the New England area for several years before falling in love with the architecture and history of Rockland. She felt that Midcoast Maine was the perfect place to raise her young daughter while starting a new adventure in hospitality. She has taken great pleasure in adding to the inn’s already wonderful guest experience and has thouroughly renovated the iterior of this spectacularly inn.

Liz and Carolyn from Newcastle Inn are from New England and have lived in (almost all the New England states. They met in Boston and discovered a mutual love of music. cooking and entertaining.

They moved to Portland Maine after getting married and continued to dream about becoming innkeepers, a dream come true when they moved into the Newcastle Inn.

Both Liz and Carolyn believe that the ingredients in their breakfasts should be the star of the show and (almost) everything is made from scratch in their kitchen. Their delicious bread comes from a local baking company and they have a special Seacoast coffee blend only found at their inn.

Al and Lindsey from Pilgrims Inn moved from the Midwest to follow their dream of being innkeepers. They both have backgrounds in hospitality, having operated resorts for Missouri State parks for several years prior to moving to Maine.

Al is retired from the military and has travelled all over the world. Lindsey was in school studying Hospitality Management when the couple bought their first resort. Their experience of owning and operating cabins, motels, restaurants and marina’s alongside knowledge from their extensive travels abroad have all been brought to the Pilgrims Inn for your enjoyment.
